Sound deadening mats that is known for its high flexibility causing it to be remarkably easy to work with. The butyl rubber base (instead of bitumen) ensures an unbreakable and flexible product, even at low temperatures.
Sound deadeners are the vibration insulation of sheet material like steel, aluminum, plastic or polyester. Untreated sheet material resonates sound and vibrations due to lack of mass. If a sheet surface produces a hollow 'gong sound' when touched, it is advisable to insulate this surface with sound deadening, for example from STP Standartplast or Vibraflex. The most common application of sound deadeners can be found under the steel sink, which reduces noise from splashing water.
Sound deadening mats are often used in vehicles to reduce wind and engine noise and improve car audio.
