Insulating the Bottom Plate

What is the sound problem?
Noise caused by the exhaust and the rolling of tires enters the vehicle through the underbody. The relatively light steel starts to vibrate and causes a sound leak. The bottom plate is connected to the bulkhead and wheel arches and are therefore insulated with the same products.

What is the solution?
Insulating the bottom plate is quite easy: equip it with anti-drumming mats of the heaviest type as much as possible. Thoroughly degrease and clean the surface and apply Vibraflex Extreme or STP Aero Bomb. For extra insulation, finish the anti-drumming mats with the Isomat VM, a floor mat that both dresses up the interior and provides extra insulation. You therefore apply these products to the bottom plate, bulkhead and the wheel arches. All these materials are mounted inside the vehicle, not on the outside!

All anti-drumming products are self-adhesive and can be cut to size with scissors or a hobby knife. The Isomat VM is not self-adhesive, it can be glued with Zettex Contact Glue or laid loose in the vehicle.

The solution for insulating the Wheel arches is practically the same as the solution for the bottom plate, you can follow the same step-by-step plan.
