Air noise in air ducts
Large air ducts can transport a lot of air, and therefore cause a lot of noise. Unfortunately, Dampers cannot be used in rectangular air ducts. However, the use of sufficient absorption material inside the air duct can significantly reduce of the sound.
What absorption material can I use in an air duct?
There is a wide range of absorption material that can be used in air ducts. Open cell absorption materials without a top layer are particularly suitable for this application. You can think of Tecnocell, Soliboard and Solcoustic. We recommend using absorbent plates that are as thick as possible. When choosing sound-absorbing material, consider absorption values, fire safety and price range.
