Sound Insulation for Floors

What is meant by architectural (floor) insulation?
Unlike thermal insulation, the purpose of acoustic insulation is to keep sound in or outside a room. For example, in case of a recording studio where sound is not allowed to enter, or, at the contrary, a pop rehearsal room where the sound is not allowed to escape in order to not to cause any nuisance.

Acoustic insulation is also used in case of nuisance from neighbour noise in, for example, a living room or bedroom, but it may also be desirable in offices, study room or production space to keep noise in or outside.

Floor insulation can be divided into wooden and concrete floors. There is a difference in approach and product application, so have a look at the page that applies to your situation.
