Before you start to insulate refrigerator noise we have some important details to look at:

Heat and ventilation
In order to reduce airborne noise, absorption material is required. These types of materials often have the property of retaining some heat. It is therefore important to consider how much free space around the refrigerator is required. -
Built-in space
Pay attention to the free space you need for the various products we offer. There will be situations where products need to be applied under or behind the refrigerator. First measure how much space you have available before ordering. -
Fan (PowerCooling)
Do not put too many things on the top shelf inside the refrigerator, blocking the fan will cause the refrigerator to produce more noise (in some cases this can solve some noise problems). -

Insulating refrigerator noise, airborne noise
Most of the refrigerator noise is produced at the back of the fridge, where the compressor is located. Equip the wall behind the refrigerator with a sound absorbing product, as much as possible without compromising ventilation of the fridge!
- Acousticcell PU
If you want use an acoustic sound absorber that can be cleaned, the best option is to use Acousticcell PU. This is a self-adhesive absorption sheet with a protective PU top layer. You can clean this product with a damp cloth. Acousticcell is easy to cut with a knife. We recommend a thickness of at least 25 mm. - Flamex Basic
No protective top layer, not cleanable, but higher absorption values, fire class C. Flamex Basic is particularly easy to cut to size with a knife. Mount with Stauf Extreme Tack. We recommend, if possible, a thickness of 50 mm for the best result.
- Regufoam Unidemper
Use for heavy and large refrigerators, American model and wine coolers, 6 to 8 Regufoam Dampers Pads (1 set = 4 dampers) due to high weight. Normal sized and smaller fridges can be placed on one set of 4 dampers. Place the dampers on the floor, or bottom of the kitch furniture, place a solid and stiff MDF or plywood panel on top of the dampers. This panel should not be wider/larger than the footprint of the refrigerator. Place a damper under each corner of the panel, to avoid bending of the wood panel, also one damper in the middle of the MDF panel. All depending on the size of the refrigerator of course.
