Isomat TS

What it is and does:
Isomat TS is a sound insulation mat that keeps airborne noise and resonance either indoors or outdoors. Isomat TS heavy panels increase the weight of a substrate, such as a door or wall, which drastically increases the sound insulation. In most cases, at least 8 dB(A) attenuation is already achieved with this mat without additional measures! This is often experienced as halving the noise level.

Applications
Isomat TS has been developed for insulating:

• Home
  For the acoustic insulation of plywood and plasterboard walls and floors. You can also use Isomat TS to insulate doors. On our Tips page you will find the Step-by-step plan for door insulation.

• Pleasure craft and yachts
  For example, for insulating the polyester ship hull against the resonance of the propeller noise and against cavitation. But you can also easily insulate (light) doors and hatches on yachts with Isomat TS. In the engine compartment you use a combination with absorption products such as Acousticcell and Merfocell. You can also insulate the floor of the wheelhouse and the walls of the engine compartment by increasing the mass with Isomat TS 8 (8 kg/m²) or the Isomat TS14 (14 Kg/m²).

• Studio & HiFi
  Apply Isomat TS14 in loudspeaker and subwoofer box. The resonances in loudspeakers and subwoofers are than greatly reduced and the loudspeaker will transmit music fuller and more cleanly. The heavier and stiffer the speaker the better. This also applies to the Hifi furniture, more about this on our tips page.

Properties
Isomat TS is made of EVA copolymers and mineral fillers. These are heavy, but thin, panels that take up little space. Isomat is quite stiff and can therefore only be applied to flat and slightly curved surfaces. Note: the greatest reductions are obtained if the substrate on which Isomat TS is applied is not heavier than the insulation board itself.

Assembly Tips
Isomat is easy to cut to size with a hobby knife. You cut the sheet twice and break it on this line. Then apply contact adhesive to the panel and the surface and let it harden for a while. Then press the Isomat panel firmly into place, without trapping air bubbles. If the panel is mounted upside down, use screws with washers on the corners. We recommend the contact adhesive with adjustable nozzle, spray can, for the application of Isomat TS. One spray can is good for about 2 m² (double-sided application).
