Merfocell FC is a sound-absorbing foam made of polyurethane. The panel has a top layer of heat resitant fiber cloth (FC). It is mainly used in situations where there is little space between hot machine parts and the absorption material. Applications are engine rooms, machine rooms and equipment and machine enclosures.

What it is and does:
Merfocell FC is a sound-absorbing polyurethane foam with a top layer of glass fiber cloth. This fire-resistant and impact-resistant top layer protects the foam against the ingress of moisture and oil. In addition, the top layer is so strong that it offers good protection against damage to the foam. The colour of the foam is anthracite. The colour of the FC top layer is grey.
Applications
Merfocell FC is used, among other things, in combustion engines, such as in engine cases, aggregates and compressors. This product is also ideal for use in ships and yachts due to the CE certification. Due to the heat-resistant FC top layer, the material can also be used under the bonnet in cars, buses and campers. Tip: use the maximum thickness for diesel engines for maximum results.
If the heat resistance of Merfocell FC is not sufficient, you can use Flamex FC as an alternative. This product has the same FC top layer but the foam base is even more fireproof.

Difference with Merfocom
Merfocell FC is a sound-absorbing foam product finished with a glass wool fabric (FC) top layer similar to that of the Merfocom. Merfocom also has an 8 kg/m² insulation board as an intermediate layer. This makes Merfocom what is referrefed to as a combination panel. Insulation and Absorption in one product!
