Flamex FC is an absorption and soundproofing panel made of sound-absorbing and heat resistant melamine foam, with a top layer of fiberglass cloth (FC) in the colour grey. The product is extremely suitable for use in engine rooms and equipment and machine enclosures such as pumps and generators.

What it is and does:
Flamex FC is an acoustic panel made of sound-absorbing melamine foam, with a top layer of fiberglass cloth (FC) in the colour grey. The product mainly absorbs sound in the medium frequency range. The fire-resistant, impact-resistant top layer protects the melamine foam against the ingress of moisture and oil. In addition, the top layer is so strong that it offers good protection against damage to the foam.
Applications
Flamex FC is heat-resistant up to 150°C and is therefore used in applications including for absorbing the noise of internal combustion engines when little space is available, for example in engine, generator and compressor housings. Due to the CE mark, Flamex FC is also an ideal product for making the engine room in ships and yachts quieter. Due to the heat-resistant FC top layer, the material can also be used under the hood in cars, buses and campers, but only on a flat surface, Flamex FC is not flexible.

Assembly Tips
Flamex FC sheets are easy to cut to size and self-adhesive. Melamine foam is very light and is best processed after it has been acclimatized for 12 hours in the room where it is used. This product has a stretch and shrinkage of approximately 3%. Please note: the panels can only be mounted on a level and flat surface. Handle the foam gently and do not bend it. This prevents damage.
