Fiberglass Exhaust Wrap

What it is and does:
Fiberglass Exhaust Wrap is a thermal insulation product of woven fiberglass. It reduces heat radiation and protects the exhaust. When the exhaust is wrapped with Fiberglass Exhaust Wrap, there is less chance of personal accidents due to combustion of the hot exhaust pipe. Other sound insulation or absorption products are also protected better against heat (for example in machine housings or outboard motors). In combination with Aluglass you can use Fiberglass Exhaust Wrap to make a perfect heat shield in, for example, sports cars, boats & yachts, vans or campers with the hood in the cabin.

Properties

• File up to ± 500°C with a peak of ± 600°C.
• High tensile strength, dimensionally stable
• Good thermal insulation, no loss of glow.
• Provides protection against burns.
• The material does not absorb water.
• Size: 50 metres of fiberglass tape, 50 mm wide and 3 mm thick.

Assembly Tips
Fasten the beginning of the tire to the exhaust with iron wire or a steel hose clamp. Then twist the Glassier Insulation Tape as tight as possible around the exhaust. Ensure that each wrap has ample overlap. This ensures as little heat leakage as possible. Depending on the situation, we recommend a double wrap. This gives an insulation layer of about 6 mm. Just like the beginning, attach the end to the outlet with wire or a hose clamp. Note: use mounting materials that have the same temperature resistance as the Fiberglass Exhaust Wrap.
