Anti-drumming Plates for Insulating Sheet Metal

What it is and what it does
With our anti-drumming plates, you can 'anti-drum' all kinds of sheet metal. By attaching an anti-drumming plate to a surface such as the body of your car, the steel engine housing of a generator or pump housing, you add mass. This increases the vibration resistance and insulates the sound.

Anti-drumming removes the gong sound that is heard when closing doors or moving a steel, aluminum or plastic sheet. 'Anti-drummed' surfaces are better at preventing sound from entering or escaping a room. This is called sound insulation. You can choose from our own brand Vibraflex or the brand STP StandartPlast if you are looking for self-adhesive anti-drumming plates.

In device and machine housing applications, anti-drumming is often used in combination with an absorption material. For this application you can also use a plate like Merfodem, which combines absorption and anti-drumming in one product.

What is the alternative?
For steel thicknesses above 4 mm, it is better to use an anti-drumming paste such as Vibradamp A-90-P.
