Sound-absorbing sheet
Aluglass is a heat-resistant, thermally insulating and sound-absorbing sheet. Aluglass is a self-adhesive fiberglass mat with a sturdy aluminium foil top layer. Ideal for insulating e.g. outboard motors and engine compartments (firewall / bulkhead) of vehicles with high temperatures. Aluglass is an excellent alternative to combustible foam products.

What it is and does:
Aluglass is a self-adhesive, thermally insulating and sound-absorbing sheet. The product is made of a quilted fiberglass mat with a sturdy aluminium foil top layer. Use Aluglass if you have any doubts about the heat resistance of absorption foam in your situation.
Applications
Aluglass is used in small spaces where the temperatures are too high to use absorption foam. Areas of application are, for example, engine compartments of vehicles, boats and yachts. For example, Aluglass can serve as a heat shield against the bulkhead in a vehicle or in the hood in the cabin (as with older Mercedes buses).
Aluglass can also be used as an insulating material to insulate heat in a boiler or stove, but can be mechanically secured with, for example, adhesive pins.
Properties
- Easy to work.
- Temperature resistance: max. 470 °C (+/- 12 °C) (according to STN ISO 871: 2010).
- Self-adhesive, self-adhesive layer withstands up to 120 °C.
Assembly Tips
Aluglass is easy to cut to size with a sharp hobby knife. At temperatures above 100 °C we recommend a mechanical attachment with, for example, adhesive pins. Tape the ends and joints between the Aluglass panel with Isotape Alu. It is recommended to wear protective equipment when processing this fiberglass mat.
