Dirt-resistant Absorption Panel
Flamex PU is an absorption panel made of melamine foam with an dirt, oil and moisture proof protective polyurethane (PU) top layer. Due to this top layer, the product can be used in areas where oil, moisture and dust play a role, such as in machine- generator enclosures and engine rooms in vessels.

What it is and does:
Flamex PU is an acoustic panel made of sound-absorbing melamine foam, with a top layer of polyurethane (PU) in the colour black. The top layer prevents dirt, moisture or oil from penetrating the sound absorbing acoustic foam, this makes to product also easy to clean with a damp cloth.
Applications
Products with a PU top layer, such as Acousticcell PU and Merfocell PU, are used in areas where there is oil, moisture and dust. Applications include engine cabinets, generators, compressors, engine rooms of ships and yachts and in vehicles.
The panels can only be mounted on a flat surface. Handle the foam gently and do not bend it. This prevents damage or tearing of the foam. A special PU Finishing Tape is available for this product to tape the seams. Tapering seams and cracks improves the sound absorption and lifespan of the material and prevents liquids from entering.

Assembly Tips
Flamex PU sheets are easy to cut to size with a sharp knife. The panels are self-adhesive. Melamine foam is very light and is best processed after it has acclimatized for 24 hours in the room where it is being used. This product has a stretch and shrinkage of approximately 3%.
