What is a drop seal for doors
Elton Ellen Matic drop seals are self-closing mechanisms and replaces a floor sill mounted on the floor. The Elton drop seals ensures that the gap between the door and the floor is closed, resulting in an improvement of the soundproofing of a door. Drop seals also reduces drafts on the floor.

Applications
This type of drop seal can be used on- or in a door with a width of a minimum of 878 mm to a maximum of 1028 mm. Elton drop seals can be shortened by a maximum of 150 mm. Where a floor sill is missing, sound can enter a space through the gap between the floor and the door. Applications include bedrooms, music studios, consultation rooms or facility rooms with equipment that produce a lot of noise. Drop seals also facilitate easy movement of wheelchairs and internal transport equipment such as trolleys.

What are the features and specifications?

• Size drop seals: two sizes, 928 mm and 1028 mm, both can be shortened up to 150 mm.
• Dimensions Elegance Cassette: 1000 x 57 x 19 mm (including end pieces).
• Maximum gap sealing: 20 mm (minimum 3 mm).
• Seal: silicone.
• Simple surface mounting by means of self-adhesive strips (drilling not required).
• Colour Elegance Cassette: aluminium VOM1.
• Service: single sided, on the hinge side.
• 60 minutes fire resistance according to the European Norm NEN-EN 1634-1.
• Smoke resistant, according to NEN-EN 13501-2 “Sa”, “Sm” and NEN-EN 1634-3.
• No-Break function ensures that the interior springs back if there are obstacles under the door.

Assembly Tips

The Elton Ellen Matic drop seal is both a surface-mounted and recessed. Make sure that you do not use the Elegance Cassette (art.no.  K1250) when you want to mount the seal on the door! You will find the installation instructions under the documentation tab and in the product packaging. The different mounting options explained:

• Installation method inside door
  If you want to install the seal inside of the door, cut a groove 30 mm deep and 15 mm wide in the door. The drop seal should slide right in. The length of the drop seal depends on the width of the door. 
• Installation on the outside of the door
  Fitting the drop seal on the outside, on the door-leaf, is a lot easier with the self-adhesive mounting. First you cut the Elegance Cassette to size. The correct size of both is the distance between the door frame, the opposite side of the hinges. Then slide the drop seal into the Elegance and mark the drop seal at the correct length. The drop seal must fit into the cassette with the plastic end caps on it. Clean the door thoroughly for the self-adhesive strips. The Elegance has a lip that goes under the door. This way it is bonded perfectly straight to the door.

• Point of attention
  When cutting a drop seal to size, pay attention to which side you should do this on, a sticker with an arrow indicates the correct side. This sticker may not be cut through! Click on this link for the "installation manual".
