What's the problem? Driving noise enters through the doors and side panels (the sheet metal next to the doors of a vehicle) into the cabin. The thin, light sheet metal vibrates easily and allows sound to enter (or exit, in the case of car-audio music). Unprocessed doors make a gong sound when you close them. Anti-drumming is the way of isolating this sound.
What is the solution? By equipping the side panels (and other 'can-like' plate surfaces) with products such as Vibraflex or STP Standardplast (anti-drumming) you prevent the sheet material to vibrate, thereby causing the gong sound to disappear. The surface should be thoroughly degreased and cleaned and the anti-drumming mats applied on the side panels and / or doors at room temperature. Press well with the pressure roller and avoid trapping air bubbles.
