Merfocell Burl Foam

Merfocell acoustic burl foam is a sound insulation material for use in all sorts of spaces you want to absorb noise. This Burl foam, often referred to as Egg Crate foam, has a burled structure, which increases the sound absorbing properties. Merfocell Burl foam is used in home studios, dry- and clean equipment, motor and machine housing. These sound insulating sheets are self-adhesive.

What it is Egg Crate foam, Merfocell Burl
Merfocell Burl foam is an acoustic sound insulation foam made of polyurethane. The structure of this acoustic foam ensures that high and medium frequencies are optimally absorbed and insulated.
Applications
Burl foam, or Egg Crate foam, is particularly easy to apply, self-adhesive, and can be used in many applications. This type of acoustic foam is mainly used in rooms or spaces where frequencies (above 1000 Hz) must be insulated, or soundproofed, combined with a decorative appearance. Applications include home studios, computer case and server racks and loudspeaker housings. For the improvement of room acoustics in living room, restaurant, club or offices we have 'Acoustic Panels', these product are more suitable for acoustics.
Properties
Merfocell Burl foam is has a strong self-adhesive backing and is easy to process. Burl foam cannot be used in public areas, because of low fireproof properties, such as a classroom, pub or club. It is better to use a product from the Flamex or Akotherm product range.

Assembly Tips
Burl foam is best cut to size with long strokes of a sharp knife. This makes the cut nice and tight and there is less chance of loose strands of foam. The adhesive is quite strong, so position the burl foam in the desired place in one go!
