Sound Insulation

Sound isolation and de-drumming: blocking noise.

With sound insulation you keep sound inside or outside a room. When keeping noise out, think, for example, of neighbour noise or traffic noise in your home or engine noise in your car or boat. When keeping sound inside, you can think of the sound of your music system or isolating a studio. What is sound insulation? Sound-insulating plates can be recognized by the high density and therefore the weight. They are often rigid mass plates made of materials such as bitumen, butyl rubber or plastic. To isolate sound, you need to add weight (mass). This makes the surface stiffer and heavier, so that sound waves reflect back.
