What it is Acousticcell sound insulation
Acousticcell PU is a sound-absorbing and insulation foam made of polyurethane. The Acousticcell has a textured, oil, dirt and moisture-proof PU top layer. This top layer increases the surface area, so the absorbing properties are higher than sound insulation products without this top layer. Acousticcell PU insulates and absorbs sound in the open-cell structure of the foam.

Applications
Acousticcell PU sound insulation is used to absorb noise in rooms with a generator, compressor or pump enclosures. In ship and yacht building and vehicles such as cars, campervans and buses for insulating engine noise. Our advice for use with combustion engines: keep at least 8 to 10 cm space between hot parts of the engine and the Acousticcell PU sheets. If you have less space, use a product such as Merfocell FC or Flamex FC. For diesel engines (low-frequency noise), use the thickest possible type. The thicker the material, the better the result. 

Thanks to the oil and moisture-resistant top layer, Acousticcell PU can also be used in hygienic areas such as kitchens (think of sound absorption from the refrigerator or sounds from kitchen appliances). Make sure that you tape the seams and cracks well with PU Finishing Tape.

Processing tips
Make sure that there are as few seams and cracks as possible during installation. These can become sound leaks! Use PU Finishing Tape to mask these potential sound leaks. The surface must be properly degreased so that the self-adhesive Acousticcell PU does not peel off.
