Isomat TS

What is Mass Loaded Vinyl and what it does:
Isomat TS is a high density soundproofing sheet that is used to soundproof surfaces that have a lower density than the Isomat. The use of Isomat TS increases the weight and thereby soundproofing a light structure or object such as a door, wall or floor but also an engine cover in a sloop or pleasure craft. The high density of Isomat mass loaded vinyl sheets drastically increases the sound insulation. In most cases, at least 8 dB(A) reduction can achieved with this product without additional measures! This is often experienced as halving the noise level.

Applications
Isomat TS has been developed for insulating:

• Home
  For the acoustic soundproofing of plywood and plasterboard walls and floors. You can also use Isomat TS to soundproof doors, a complete guide can be found on our tips page "How to soundproof a door".

• Pleasure craft and yachts
  Soundproofing polyester ships hull and transom, to reduce propeller noise and cavitation. In boats and yachts to soundproof doors, hatches and engine compartment and cover, in combination with sound insulation such as Acousticcell and Acousticcell Alu. You can also soundproof the floor of the wheelhouse by increasing the mass with Isomat TS 8 (8 kg/m²) or TS14 (14 kg/m²).

• Studio & HiFi
  Apply Isomat TS14 in loudspeaker and subwoofer box. The resonances in loudspeakers and subwoofers are than greatly reduced and the loudspeaker will transmit music fuller and more cleanly. Properties
Isomat TS is made of EVA co-polymers and mineral fillers. These are heavy, but thin, sheets that take up little space. Isomat is quite stiff and can therefore only be applied to flat and slightly curved surfaces. Note: the greatest reductions are obtained if the material on which Isomat TS is applied doubles in mass or nearby. This product has a smooth but industrial appearance, might be needed to finish with a plywood sheet for example.

Assembly Tips
Isomat sound barrier sheets are easy to cut to size with a utility knife by making a cut in the sheet and break it. Apply contact adhesive to the panel and a surface and let it dry for a few minutes. Then press the Isomat panel firmly into place. If the sheet is to be mounted upside down, use some screws or nails on the corners. We recommend the contact adhesive spray can for small projects. One spray can is good for about 2 m² (double-sided applied).
