Acoustic panel Akotherm SF (Smooth Finish) is a sturdy polyester wool panel with an extra high density (40 kg/m³) with smooth finishes on both sides. This type of polyester wool product is perhaps the most beautiful of its kind and is ideally suited to be placed in plain sight to improve the acoustics in loud sounding and noisy rooms. Akotherm SF can be mounted on walls and ceilings.

How much do I need to improve the acoustics?
Apply acoustic panels on walls and/or the ceiling equivalent to 50% of the floor space results in an enormous improvement in the acoustics. The best result is achieved when acoustic panels are evenly distributed in a room. In practice, however, it often appears that a percentage of +/- 30% already gives a lot of improvement. Example: if you have a room of about 100 m² you ideally need to install about 30 to 40 m² of acoustic panels. Our tips page include multiple guides to improve room acoustics. What it is and does:
Akotherm SF, smooth finish, is an acoustic panel made of durable, long polyester fibres made from recycled PET bottles, resulting in an extremely strong and dimensional stable product. Due to the excellent acoustic properties, better acoustics is created in rooms where reverberation (reflections of sound) is a problem.
Applications
Akotherm SF can be used to improve the acoustics in various rooms, for example, a studio, living room and Clubs &Pubs. Akotherm SF can be used both indoors and outdoors, as long as the product can't get wet due to rain. The ceiling of the balcony, which often reflects traffic noises, can also be covered with Akotherm SF.
Properties
Akotherm SF has excellent sound-absorbing and thermal properties and is kind to the skin. Contact with the polyester fibres does not pose a risk of allergic reactions, skin irritations or respiratory problems. The material does not generate dust and does not contain chemical binding agents. In addition, it is non-toxic and 100% recyclable. The product can withstand moisture. Other properties of Akotherm SF are:
- Fire class B, D0.
- Heat-resistant.
- Shape stable.
- Polyester wool density: 40 kg/m³.
- Colour: black and white.
- Dimension tolerance: max. 2%.
Assembly Tips
Use Stauf Extreme Tack acoustic panel glue to attach the Akotherm panels against wall or ceiling Spread the Stauf paste from the corners towards the centre and spread it in the middle of the panel. With sufficient adhesive, the panel will bond directly to a surface, no struts or clamps are necessary. Use a sharp knife for minor adjustments to the Akotherm panels.
