Flamex FC is a sound insulation and soundproofing panel made of and heat resistant melamine acoustic foam, with a top layer of fibreglass cloth (FC) with a grey colour. This sound insulation product is extremely suitable to soundproof engine rooms and equipment and machine enclosures such as pumps and generators with high temperatures.

What it is and does:
Flamex FC is an sound insulation panel made of melamine acoustic foam, with a top layer of fibreglass cloth (FC) and a self-adhesive backing. The product mainly insulates sound in the medium frequency range. A heat- and impact resistant top layer protects the acoustic foam against the ingress of moisture and oil. In addition, the top layer is so strong that it offers good protection against damages to the foam, in case of maintenance to an engine for instance.
Applications
Flamex FC is heat-resistant up to 150°C and is therefore used in applications including the soundproofing and insulation of engines when little space is available, for example in small generator enclosures or compressor housing. Due to the CE mark, Flamex FC is also an ideal product for soundproofing the engine room, or engine compartment, in ships and yachts to reduce engine noise. Due to the heat-resistant FC top layer, the material can also be used underneath a flat bonnet of cars, buses and campervans, Flamex FC is not flexible.

Assembly Tips
Flamex FC panels are easy to cut to size and self-adhesive. This product has a stretch and shrinkage of approximately 3%, therefore best processed after it has acclimatised for 12 hours in the space where it is used. Please note: the panels can only be mounted on a level and flat surface. Handle the foam gently and do not bend it. This prevents damage.
