Merfocell FC
Heat Resistant Acoustic Foam
Merfocell FC is a sound insulation made of acoustic polyurethane foam. The panel has a top layer of heat resistant fibreglass cloth (FC). It is mainly used in situations where there is little space between hot engine or machine parts and the sound insulation. Applications are engine rooms in boat and yacht, machine and equipment enclosures. Self-adhesive, easy to process.

What it Merfocell FC sound insulation
Merfocell FC is a sound insulation acoustic polyurethane foam with a top layer of fibreglass cloth. This fire-resistant and impact-resistant top layer protects the acoustic foam against the ingress of moisture and oil. In addition, the top layer is so strong enough offer protection against damages to the foam.
Applications
Merfocell FC is used, among other things, in engines rooms and engine compartments of boats and aggregates and compressor enclosures. Merfocell FC has CE certification and applicable in yachts and ships. Due to the heat-resistant fibreglass top layer, the material can also be used in en engine bay of a car, bus and campervan. Tip: use the maximum thickness of 40 mm for diesel engines for maximum results.
If the heat resistance of Merfocell FC is not sufficient, you can use Flamex FC as an alternative. This product has the same fibreglass cloth top layer, but the foam base is more heat resistant up to 150°c.

Alternative product, Merfocom
Merfocell FC is a sound insulation product finished with a fibreglass cloth top layer similar to that of the Merfocom. However, Merfocom also provide a soundproofing property because of the 8 kg/m² sound barrier as an intermediate layer. This makes Merfocom an acoustic combination product, sound insulation and soundproofing in one product!
