How many acoustic panels are needed to improve room acoustics?
The rule of thumb applies to spaces such as an office, living room or cafes and restaurants. Example: suppose you have a room with a floor space of 50 m², not much higher than 3 meters, you need about 12 to 20 m² of acoustic panels. In case of Flamex Edge panels this is about 50 panels of 600 x 600 mm (18 m²). This should result in a reasonable improving of the acoustics depending on what else is present in the room, such as curtains and carpeting. What it is and does
Flamex Edge is an acoustic panel made of sound-absorbing melamine foam. This acoustic panel is provided with a decorative edge of 45°. Flamex Edge reduces annoying sound reflections and reverberation in the mid and high frequency range, in other words voices and music. It improves the room acoustics by removing that hollow and loud empty room sound effect.
Applications
Flamex Edge is rated fire class C and is therefore suitable for in situations. Areas of application are in the offices, call centres, school classroom and waiting and consulting room, but also at home in the living room or in a music studio. Flamex Edge panels can be mounted on the ceiling as well as on the wall with our Stauf adhesive. The edge of 45° all around gives the product a beautiful appearance!

- Lightweight acoustic foam, 9.5 kg/m³.
- Grey panels, approximate RAL 7047.
- White panels, approximate RAL 9001.
Assembly Tips
Flamex Edge panels are easy to install with Stauf adhesive. Spread a few dots of Stauf glue paste from the corners towards the centre and spread some in the middle of the panel. With sufficient glue, the panel will attach directly to a wall or ceiling, no struts or clamps needed.
